Dames Point Bridge Cradling Sun
This taken from south of Coast Guard Station on St. John's River (7 miles away). I used TPE to get the right spot days before hand (sun is heading north). This is an experiment. 9 shots 1ev (for high contrast HDRI used a Promote Control) apart @f32 (for depth) with a 55-250mm @250mm and cropped for 400mm effect (what my film camera showed @ 400mm), Have an old 500mm mirrored @f8 lens but camera only see's f00. The haze started to rise as the sun was setting (cool air warm water). The bridge is blocked by Arlington. PP with Photomatix 5 and Lightroom 5 (develop mode only) had trouble with Nik Software filters getting it just right.

on April 17, 2014Yea, things you learn - I was using average metering and focusing instead of spot metering did learn about it till afterward (not to meter on the sun but below or side.)
